For this project, I created a variety of design/marketing deliverables for The Diane Grunewald Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving youth who are deaf and hard of hearing. These deliverables included refreshing the logo, redesigning the website, designing event assets and preparing them for print, creating the brand identity system and brand guidelines, and designing a letterhead, notecard, and envelopes.
Logo
After talking with the client, the organization wanted the new logo to remain similar to the original as there was an emotional attachment to it, while also refreshing it to make it look more professional. In an initial meeting with the client, we discussed her goals with the logo, the target audience of the Foundation, the values of the Foundation, what she wanted the logo to communicate/connect to, and logo design preferences. When designing, I focused on the values shared with me in my initial client meeting. I wanted to choose colors, typefaces, and design a logo mark that aligned with the Foundation's values. Some sketches, the original logo, and three different variations I created can be seen below. The client decided to move forward with the logo version that was most similar to their original logo.
Website
Using the new font, colors, and logo, I began working on the Foundation's website. I decided to redesign the site to add the content the Foundation sought to add and update it with the new branding. I sketched wireframes and began designing in Squarespace, the platform the Foundation's website was currently on.
Images of the original website, wireframe sketches, and the redesigned website can be seen below. The redesigned website can be seen at hearfordiane.org.
Event Assets
Upon the completion of the website, I worked on designing a variety of print assets for the Foundation to be used at their events. These assets included an informational flyer, two retractable table top banners, and a three sided table tent. Additionally, the logo was applied to a table cloth and gummy bear packaging. As part of this process, I also had to communicate with the printer and prepare files for print. Images of final designs of the informational flyer, two retractable table top banners, and three sided table tent, along with images of some of the assets at an event, can be seen below.
Brand Guidelines
Upon completion of all the aforementioned work, I created brand guidelines to outline how the brand identity system is to be used. The brand guidelines can be seen below.
Letterhead, Note Card, and Envelopes
The last assets to be finalized for The Diane Grunewald Foundation were the letterhead and note card. As a result of many variations, the final designs can be seen below.
