For this project, I worked in a collaborative team of four, including one journalism student and three designers, to design an app that would help students focus while studying and motivate them through the use of a plant growing analogy. Initially, we were given a color as a prompt to come up with ideas for our app. Our team researched a variety of possibilities before deciding on our final idea and conducted audience research to refine our idea. Check out our solution below! After going through the sign up, click the question mark icon in the upper right corner to learn how the app works. If prompted to swipe, click anywhere to progress forward. After completing the tutorial, feel free to explore!
Value Hypothesis:
StudyGarden is a new approach for studying. StudyGarden allows users to track their study progress by growing plants while working on tasks. Users will have access to a multitude of plants, cultivating hard work into unique gardens hand-crafted by the user. Using the Pomodoro Study Timer, StudyGarden promotes healthy study habits through focused learning and regular breaks. Ultimately, StudyGarden helps relieve stress and increase focus.
A primary responsibility I had for this project was creating the style tile and overseeing its implementation, though our group discussed ideas and final design decisions for it together. We used an Apple UI Kit for our design, so many of the elements are from that UI Kit. Two of my teammates did the illustrations.
Thank you for checking out the StudyGarden app!
